Caressa Gonsalves

Caressa Gonsalves is a ceramic artist raised on the northern beaches of Palm Beach, where her family founded the historic Gonsalves Boat Shed. Deeply connected to the ocean and shaped by early loss, she uses ceramics as a way to process emotion and memory. Her vessels incorporate shoreline textures, found clay slips, rope forms and impressions from the boatshed, embracing natural imperfections as part of the work. Inspired by seascapes, ocean life and the handmade, her contemporary pieces reflect both her coastal upbringing and a tactile, expressive practice grounded in place and feeling.
